One step at a time

Image
I don't know how needs to hear this but hey, take it easy. You don't have to win all the battles today, even though your brain may be convincing you of that. It's Ok to just focus one at a time on the simple wins, like taking care of yourself and sticking to a healthy routine. By taking care of the problems you have control over and building yourself up from there. Sustainable growth happens while you take care of yourself. Keep going, let it build up at your pace. Just let yourself build up the momentum first. You got this, before you know it, you'll have those big wins too. If you had a small win today, make sure to celebrate it, I'm proud of you! -Ewelina

Accept and move on

Image
Accept and move on Sometimes, the thing that keeps us stuck in life is the avoidence of certain emotions. What you resist persists. To acknowledge  and accept where we are now. Could be the first step in moving forward. Ewelina

The present moment

Sometimes in life. We temporarily lose sight of our path and the bigger picture because our attention is needed in the present moment. -Ewelina

Don't let your strive for work ruin what you are working so hard for

Image
Don't let your strive for work ruin what you are working so hard for. I have learned from a young age that a hard, relentless work ethic is essential in life. I am grateful for the lesson, though I have come to learn that. Working hard is a state that can only be maintained temporarily and must be balanced with softness and nurturing towards yourself. But we sometimes get so caught up in the work that we forget to live and enjoy the things we are working so hard for. Work is important, though it is not everything. Taking it slow, prioritizing rest and breaks is part of productive and effective work. Over doing it could be counterproductive and damaging to your health. It's important to maintain that balance and not lose sight of the bigger picture. -Ewelina

Listen to your body

Image
As the saying goes, health is wealth. I feel that is not something to fully understand until your health goes. Sometimes, we push ourselves too hard and don't prioritize our health until we have no choice but to. If something in your life is negatively affecting your physical, mental, and emotional health. Then it should be changed even if others around you don't understand. The way you live your life should be supporting and not damaging your health and well-being. Life will just keep giving you lessons until you start to take better care of yourself. -Ewelina

You can't fight yourself and win

I heard Tony Robbins say: "Everything is happening for you and not against you." Of course, this could be a challenging concept. Though I have found it to be an empowering one. Particularly when faced with inner disharmony. I have found that every part inside of us is trying its very best to help in some way. It may seem counterintuitive. Though all too often, I find that when we experience fear, stress, pain, or shame, we tend to turn against it. We try to fight or suppress a part of us, as if it's some kind of enemy we need to defeat. In my life, it has been helpful to be present with myself. Especially when my mind sometimes spirals into anxiety and seeing it as its way of trying to help me avoid pain. By alerting me to a potential issue. This creates an opportunity to gently find ways to self-soothe and meet the unmet needs of my distressed part. Sometimes, the disharmony of different aspects within us is what needs to be treated with more kindness and introduced coop...

Be open to life's lessons

Be open to life's lessons Everyone has something to teach you, and you have something to teach others. Sometimes, what you really need to hear can come through the most unexpected person. Sometimes, you are in the right place at the right time to be able to help someone else. Learning is something that never ends, and sometimes, life's great lessons can come to you in unexpected ways. Stay open to them. -Ewelina

You are not for everyone, and that's Ok

Image
You are not for everyone, and that's Ok You're not going to make sense to everyone, and sometimes your truth could make others uncomfortable. You may not fit into other's perceptions of you. Sometimes, people will project past pain onto you or idolize and assume you are someone you're not. Like an art piece, some will hate parts of you that others will love. It's all a matter of perception. The right people will be drawn to the authentic you. While the wrong people will make you feel like you are not enough. When you stay true to yourself, you will find the right people. -Ewelina

It takes time

Healing takes time, building a career takes time, and learning a new skill takes time. We live in such a fast-paced world where everything is instant gratification. That we lose patience with ourselves and process that take longer. Sometimes, we need to give ourselves more rest, practice more, or stick to a routine longer than expected to get the results we desire. Not everything is meant to happen right away, and we can't always control that. Life is not a race. It's OK to just let things be at times and find acceptance for where we are. -Ewelina

You are always able to create the life you want

You are always able to create the life you want Your past doesn't define your future. This one can take time to learn, especially. If you are so used to disappointments and circumstances turning out a certain way. That could lead to difficulty in believing in a different future. Since such a thing is just out of our perception. Sometimes, this could lead to fear and anxiety when an opportunity presents itself. But a different future is always possible. It helps to be gentle with that fear and uncertainty within you. Sometimes, you may need to carry it like a child as you be brave and move forward in life. There is a quote that says “If you want something you've never had, you must do something you've never done." Keep moving. A new life is waiting. -Ewelina

You are always deserving

Image
In life, we sometimes get caught up thinking, believing that if we were just, more successful, work harder, be thinner, richer, more talented, then we would deserve to have love, belonging, and support. Except that you fall into the perfectionism trap of never being enough. It is important to work towards your goals from a place of worthiness. -Ewelina

Love your inner child

Image
Love your inner child. Self-love is everything, and you will be your own parent for the rest of your life. Your inner child is very real and, at certain times, can take over the show. Learn to be gentle with that part of you, treat it with love, compassion, and guidance. Let it be creative and nurture that part. As it has a lot to teach us. This is a lifelong practice you will work towards. But if you make it a daily one, it will drastically improve your relationship with yourself as well as with others around you. We can be our own biggest mysteries, and having a part of us always striving to know and understand oneself can help you heal, grow, and transcend life's challenges. -Ewelina

People will change and some will leave

This is from a collection of insights I have written from life lessons I've learned. People will change and some will leave. Sometimes, it's the ones you least expect and want to hold on to the most. The more your lives and values differ, the less you will see of them. Sometimes, you overextend yourself to have people you love in your life, and they still leave. This is painful, but it's important to not look at yourself through the eyes of people who leave you and don't see your worth. Or to hold onto something that is no longer meant to be. It's OK to lose others, but don't lose yourself. See yourself as a vessel going towards your own uncharted seas. Sometimes, that may be lonely when there is no one there beside you. But if you keep going towards your goals and desires. You will eventually start meeting others along the path. -Ewelina

Just breath

Image
On my last trip, I finally got to do something I have been looking forward to for a long time! My first scuba dive!. No pictures, unfortunately, so I made an art instead. As a beginner, I was with an instructor the whole time, and I got to see coral reef. It was an incredible experience. Though being a first timer, it took some time to get used to the scuba diving process. The biggest is to control my breathing and just let the body relax. At first I was doing well with the breathing and diving deeper, then I felt the underwater pressure and it hit me that I have never been underwater for so long and a strong desire to breathe through my nose came up as my mind was convinced I couldn't breathe anymore. Then spiraling into thinking up all the ways it could go wrong. That's when my breathing got too fast. My throat was too dry. Panic, I had to go up for air. I breathed, calmed down, and got my mind to a better place. Practiced my breaths and went back under. I was not about to ...

I'm here for all of it

Image
I am here for all of it The more I grow, the more it becomes clear to me. That growth and healing is not about fixing and changing the “unacceptable” parts of me. But by growing your capacity to be there for all of you. For the: shame, the joy, the pain, the sadness, the pride, the vulnerability, the strength, the grief, the fear, the bravery, the anger, the quirkiness, the shyness, and the bold. Be here for all of it. Embrace the wholeness of you. Embrace the unique tapestry that you are.

Dandelion in the pavement

Image
Sometimes in life, we are like a wild dandelion at the edge of the highway. That somehow managed to grow through the concrete. Surviving amidst the hot pavement and passing cars Staying strong and living in an inhospitable environment. There is beauty in resilience and adaptability. We, too, can grow through difficult times. Own the resilience and adaptability of the dandelion. It could be just as special and beautiful as any rose. -Ewelina

The anti stress blanket

Image
Text from above: Anti-stress blankets make everything better When you feel frustrated Just get up, grab a blanket and... Let yourself take a break, Breath, Just be within the sanctuary of the blanket, Meditate, Be Zen, Let it go, Be in the now, Accept yourself as you are, You are safe, Be there for you, At this moment you are enough, it will be Ok Another post from my comic. Remember breaks are important, don't let yourself stay in the stressful frustrated feeling for too long. Breath, Feel the frustration, accept yourself and where you are. recenter, give yourself the love you need and move on.  I've been listening to a lot of Dr. Joe Dispenza. he essentially says that your body becomes used to the feeling of stress and even expects it. This of course damages your health. That's why we must train ourself to constantly come back into a state of peace and harmony within. it is a work in progress so be patient with yourself, When you have peace within, you have peace outsid...

The feeling of home

Image
Text from above: Sometimes when I am missing home, I remind myself that home is a feeling and not a place.  Home is something that we can carry on inside of us May we all find that place and be home wherever we go This post was from a comic series I started years ago. I remember feeling very home sick after I moved out. So being able to creatively express through this comic. Was very cathartic and served as a reminder to myself. So to anyone who feels they don't know where home is for them. I understand, I'm still finding mine. But in the meantime, lets carry it inside.

Insight on Vulnerability

Image
Text from above: Insightful though of the day: Acting like you are stronger then you feel all the time, can be a sure way to feel alone. Letting yourself be vulnerable at times when you need too, can open you up to connection and understanding.    I've been feeling quite philosophical lately and have come to realize that while strength is valuable, it can sometimes become a barrier we create to distance ourselves from others.  This is sometimes necessitated in some circumstances to avoid the pain and disappointment others might cause. Though as a result, we end up trying to handle everything on our own.  Vulnerability of how one feels can be a strength and can invite the right kind of people into your life, where you don't always have to be strong all the time.  This is an update from my older blog. Celestial angelic dream

Image
This piece was inspired from a beautiful dream I had In the dream, I woke up in the middle of the night and had feathers growing out of my chest, tail bone and shoulders. The feathers had stem like tails where flowers grew out of them. My skin was pale and glowing, I got up from my bed and was wearing a long elegant skirt. I remember Feeling this intense bliss, love and peace. I was just so happy and excited that I existed.  I felt like I was embodying an angelic aspect of myself, I felt so powerful, beautiful and at peace.  After I woke up I felt like a different person a very deep peace and calm. I remember having a stressful day ahead as I was doing my drivers test. I remained calm the whole day and passed with ease.  The feeling of peace and ease stayed with me for days after this dream. I felt it shifted something in me in a positive way. One of the most powerful dreams I ever had. It felt like help from the other side. It makes me believe that these experiences are ...
